We are glad to announce a new study (Building farmer-led seed systems for enhanced seed security. Experiences from PELUM Uganda)
that details various successful interventions by several PELUM Uganda member organisations in promoting seed security among smallholder farmers. The study provides an insight into seed security practices of selected smallholder farmer groups in 12 districts in Uganda.
The study also gives a broader perspective on seed security; significance of seed security, current seed security situation and
importance of informal community based seed production systems. Gender dynamics pertaining seed security are also discussed and
as well as recommendations on strategies for further promoting seed security especially among smallholder farmers in Uganda.
