Kicking off the final stretch of our 2022-2026 strategic plan, the PELUM Uganda team gathered from December 14 to 20 of December 2025 at the serene Jinja Nile Resort Hotel for our pivotal 2025 Staff Retreat. The retreat’s core mission was to rigorously review departmental performance over the past year, identify critical areas for improvement, and set concrete parameters for strengthening our impact in 2026 and beyond. This crucial self-analysis ensures our efforts remain sharply aligned with the goals of our concluding strategic framework, laying a robust foundation for the planning cycle to come.
Beyond the boardroom analysis, the retreat served as a vital incubator for team spirit and personal renewal. Recognizing that our people are our greatest asset, dedicated sessions fostered deeper collaboration and built powerful synergies across departments. In a highlight focused on holistic well-being, the team enthusiastically participated in the “Cycling for Clean Air” campaign organised by eBee Mobility Uganda.
This stimulating activity was more than just exercise; it was a practical demonstration of our commitment to sustainable practices and environmental health, while simultaneously emphasizing the importance of individual self-care. Pedaling together along scenic routes provided refreshed and energized minds, symbolizing our collective drive to move forward with purpose.
The combination of strategic reflection and dedicated wellness activities created a uniquely productive atmosphere. Colleagues engaged in candid discussions about operational challenges and celebrated shared successes, all while forging stronger interpersonal bonds. The attractive setting of the Nile Resort provided the perfect backdrop for both focused work and meaningful relaxation.
As we return to our stations, the outcomes of this retreat are clear: a unified team with a sharpened strategic focus, actionable plans for enhanced performance, and a renewed commitment to the health of both our organization and our planet. The energy generated in Jinja from the boardroom to the bike paths propels us confidently into the New Year, ready to implement our refined strategies and uphold our mission with increased vigor and synergy.
Here’s to closing our current strategic chapter strongly and cycling collaboratively into a transformative 2026.
