Having been supported to take part in the Exposure/learning visit at KSAM FARM in Buikwe in May 2024, Phiona (Right) has taken up the initiative together with her colleagues from High Mark Tech Ltd to put into practice all they learnt during the visit. Among some of the AE practices that Phiona and other fellow youth learnt was the production of organic pesticides and fertilizers. The moment Phiona returned to her farm, she influenced her fellow members and embarked on using the locally available resource as advised by KSAM Farm to start the production of FERTPLUS ORGANIC FERTILIZERS.
So far, Phiona has trained more than 500 farmers across the districts of Sheema & Rukungiri in organic fertilizer production and application.
Phiona and colleagues attribute this milestone to the support received from Broederlijk Delen (BD) through PELUM Uganda under the Accelerating Sustainable Business Opportunities for Youth project and the technical support from fellow youth from KSAM FARM in Buikwe district.
